At long last and just in time for Buyers the Federal Reserve has provided the signal that it is the best time to buy real estate in many many years. why?

They just reduced the Discount rate .75-1%.  that doesn't sound earth shattering when you read it aloud but it means along with their other moves today that mortgage rates are going to come down quickly.  They are already in the mid fives for primary residences but could soon be in the 4s on a 30 year fixed rate basis!!

The real cost of owning property will likely save you more than 22% over a 30 year fixed mortgage!!!  That is like buying a $300,000 property for $234,000! For those of you who have a mortgage now keep you eye on our daily mortgage market rate on this web site to the right for a rate in the 4s%.  Then call your lender or mortgage broker for an analysis of how much you'll save by refinancing.   

Remember prices are really low today here, there are lots of aggressively priced properties to choose from, and just adding the mortgage benefits along with reduction in tax assessments make buying property now a steal!  Now the bad news. 

This opportunity won't be here too long.  As the market picks up in number of sales, which it will, the best values will get picked off and the prices will begin to firm up.
